Established under the NITF Act No. 28 of 2006, NITF is a 100% government-owned statutory body providing affordable insurance solutions including Agrahara medical insurance, motor and non‑motor general insurance, reinsurance, and SRCC (Strike, Riot, Civil Commotion & Terrorism) coverage. The head office is located at No. 95, UPTO Building, Chitthampalam A. Gardiner Mawatha, Colombo 02. NITF also operates district branches in Kandy, Gampaha, Kurunegala, Kegalle, Polonnaruwa, Rathnapura, Vavuniya, and more. Branch Locations

• Reinsurance Services: Sole reinsurer in Sri Lanka, accepting 30% mandatory cessions from local insurers.
• Claims & Underwriting: Includes strike, riot, and civil commotion covers. Reinsurance Policy
Public Day is held every Monday (from February 10, 2025 onwards) between 9:00 AM–1:00 PM for visitor claims service. NITF has dealt with over 234,000 Agrahara claim settlements in 2023. About & History
